ColourPop Lippie Stix!
Recently I decided to try the brand ColourPop. ColourPop has a vast variety of products from lipsticks, liners, blush, and eyeshadows. The colors are vibrant and pigmented.
Here's a quote right off of of the ColourPop website:
"We take the phrase “if you can dream it, you can do it” to a whole new level and specialize in making killer makeup in every shade imaginable at prices everyone can afford. We think that whole barrier between fancy and affordable is absolute nonsense. That’s why all of our products have luxury formulas at prices that won’t break the bank."
ColourPop most definitely is affordable with prices ranging from $5-$8. There is also free shipping on orders of $30 and more.
The texture is creamy and thick, but comfortable. The pigment is not patchy, but smooth.
Also, a big plus... they smell like sugar cookies! :)
I purchased 6 colors. Brills, Tipsy, Westie, Rocket, Fancy, and Lumière.
So, what's the catch?
When I purchased the ColourPop Lippie Stix, I did not purchase the matching lip liners, I heard that the lip liner was not necessary. But, I'm wondering if I should have. The color does transfer, when I eat, drink, or kiss the bf. The color gets everywhere! Don't get me wrong, I really like the product and you can't beat the price! But, the lasting power isn't there... Unless I sit and do nothing, which is not practical whatsoever.
I purchased one of the glossy shades, Tipsy, which will not be swatched. The glossy shade I was a bit wary about because I was forewarned that the color was patchy and settled in the creases of the lip lines. However, being in love with the color and a bit naive, I tried it anyway and was severely disappointed. But who knows, maybe I won't give up hope!
Also, another downside... you can only purchase these products online, but like I said, shipping is free on order of $30+.
Bottom line: Is it worth it?
Ultimately in the end, the product is worth it. The color payoff is fantastic, the texture is creamy, and most lipsticks do not last without a liner anyway. I really do like the crazy different amount of shades available and the product is cruelty free.
