Stress and Anxiety

Wednesday, April 05, 2017
Recently I have been very stressed. I know we all get stressed, whether it be about the big things or the little things, stress happens in our day to day lives and there's different ways of coping and managing the stress we deal with.

First, let's take a step back and breathe. Doing breathing exercises can be a simple way to reduce stress. Breathe in for counts of 7 and out for counts of 8. Continuously do this until you calm down.

Now, assess the situation with a clear head. Most of the time, the situation can be easily solved once you're not freaking out over it.

If that doesn't work, walk away from the problem for a while if possible. I'm not saying if you're stressing out during an exam just walk away from it because let's be real, you probably won't do so hot on it. But is is okay to take a moment to clear your head.

Since I have been so stressed lately, I began to fall into a routine to help maintain a sense of order throughout my hectic day. I have a skincare routine that I follow twice a day. At night, I can't wait to get back to my dorm and take off the day's makeup, dirt, and oil! By following a routine, I am able to enjoy me-time while taking care of my body! By getting into a routine, you're allowing yourself to feel a sense of security and normality throughout the day, which will definitely benefit your mental health and current well being.

Keep calm, everyone.
